Beyond the Linktree: Why Your Identity Needs a Personal API

By jrf

We are witnessing a return to the oldest primitive of the internet: the personal website. But this time, it’s different.

For a decade, we have outsourced our digital identity to social platforms that reward fleeting proximity over structured knowledge. We reduced ourselves to a “Link-in-Bio”—a static graveyard of buttons that tells the world where to find us, but nothing about who we are.

Marqui is the rejection of that status quo.

The Structured Mind

The fundamental breakthrough of Marqui isn’t just that it “indexes” your posts. It’s that it transforms your intellectual history into a structured identity surface. Every Farcaster thread, every shared link, and every raw thought is vectorized (using pgvector) and mapped into a Knowledge Graph.

You don’t need to learn graph theory. You don’t need to manually tag your content. It just happens as you exist online.

From Feed to Network

The Marqui Network

Once your identity is structured—once it is a Personal API—the web becomes social in an entirely new way. When websites are powered by knowledge graphs, they don’t just “link” together; they connect through shared themes, intersecting values, and complementary interests.

The social layer stops being a vertical timeline you scroll through like a zombie. It becomes a horizontal network of connected minds.

The Interface for Agents

As AI becomes the primary way we navigate information, having a “programmable layer” for your identity is no longer optional. Marqui gives you an interface that agents can read, understand, and interact with on your behalf.

This is the new paradigm: A new year. A new website. A structured you.
